The team here at Office Reality was originally contacted by St Paul’s Church of England Primary School, in Stoke on Trent, to find a solution to creating a private meeting space without compromising the room’s structure through any building work or extensions. The reason for the meeting space was to ensure that they keep to their “mission” of making sure everyone “feels valued”. Important factors for creating such a space were comfortability and acoustic features for privacy.
The QC Circular Glazed Pod- V2 fit the bill perfectly. In addition to an acoustic solution created with acrylic glazed panels and a fabric panelled “wall and ceiling”, the pods also come with integral LED lighting. Keen to make the space even more comfortable when in use, we also arranged for an integral air conditioning system to be installed.
The glazing ensures that anybody who is making use of the pod is unlikely to be disturbed and also reduces the sense of claustrophobia when inside, creating natural light. The fabric chosen was “Manhattan Astor YI361” from Camira fabrics as this would ensure the panels matched the colours of the room that the pod was stationed in.
