Our Alphabet cushions will be instantly recognisable as familiar or vaguely familiar shapes by children of primary school and pre school age. Popular with teachers the Alphabet cushions have been designed with the Literacy Curriculum in mind, some, using the identifiable Sassoon Infant font in both upper and lower cases. The cushions can also be used as props in learn through play environments. An example this is name spelling. Using the name Paul the teacher hands out four cushions to four children. The children form a line the first one holding the letter P the second one holds the letter a, the third u and the fourth l. The fun begins as the children workout where they need to stand, in a line, with their individual letter to complete the name ensuring that it is spelt correctly. Traditionally the cushions are used to sit on and there is no reason for that to change as they make excellent seats too.
